General Khadour, could you tell us the facts on the ground?

We have the right to defend the country, the right to defend the citizens, and the right to bring every side of Syria back together. The government of Syria was elected and is acknowledged by the Syrian people, with Bashar Al-Assad as its leader, and the Syrians stand together shoulder-to-shoulder to ensure the country does not fall. Syria wants to come to a point of compromise with rebel forces to lessen the bloodshed from both sides, but there is difficulty in reaching compromises, particularly in places like Al-Zabadani. The international news is filled with falsified stories of the Syrian army injuring their own people while rebel forces use civilians as human shields. The army has the full capacity to eliminate the enemy entirely, but delays a mere 1km away waiting for civilians to leave the area to avoid the loss of civilian life.

Everybody back home (in South Africa) is surely wondering how we did not get killed at the border on the way in! Of course you must know the severity of the warzone depicted on the international news

We are strong on the ground to stand up for ourselves and protect our citizens, while other countries are supporting the cause for the Syrian government to fall.

We are all aware of the situation, the imported fighters and the game behind it

The Syrian army would be happy to come to any agreement to end the bloodshed, so long as the nation and people of Syria remain united. The country, four years into this war, maintains full administrative order. Each and every citizen who works for the State in all departments from the army to the municipalities still receive their monthly salary perfectly on time, including all those living in rebel-held territories. The government is still legitimate and still standing up to defend the citizens.

VIDEO shown… SPEAKING IS THE EX-NO2. LEADER OF THE AL-ZABADANI REBELS (AL-NUSRA SIDE), BORN AND BRED IN THE DISTRICT, WHO WAS NEGOTIATING THE CEASEFIRE. HE PULLED OUT AND CAME BACK TO THE SYRIAN GOVERNMENT WHEN HE REALISED HIS GROUP DID NOT WANT TO LAY DOWN ARMS. HE SAYS THEY ARE TRYING TO DESTROY THE GOVERNMENT OF SYRIA. HE SAYS HOW HE HAD RECEIVED FOREIGN MONEY TO FIGHT. HE FIRST STARTED FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM AND THEN IT WAS MANIPULATED. HE SAYS THAT IF HE TOLD HIS LEADER HE WANTED TO LEAVE, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. INITIALLY MANY WERE GAMBLING THAT BASHAR-AL ASSAD WOULD BE TOPPLED IN A VERY SHORT TIME. IF THAT HAD BEEN TRUE, THIS MAN WOULD HAVE BEEN SECOND IN LINE TO LEAD AL-ZABADANI.

(Mr. Potgieter asks). In my country, South Africa, many people don’t support the president, but they do not take up arms and attempt to take over. Why in Syria have the people picked up weapons in this case?

The answer is short. For lower class people with no job and nothing to do (like the ex-No2 for Al-Zabadani who was trained as a welder), they are offered money and they will want to fight, especially when they are promised elevated positions. Many promises from outside parties came in, to weaken the citizens and break their spirit. In Al-Zabadani there are 400 000 to 500 000 citizens. For someone like the exNo2., he was promised a chance for a leadership position. They pay one, and that one brings in everyone who he knows and he pays them, and it becomes a business. Mostly those who are fighting the unknown cause have been unemployed people. They don’t have the strategies, or know what their commands will be for the next day; they know what is in their pockets now and what their current task is. They are sent to various locations for these tasks to create chaos and disruption.

(Mr. Potgieter asks). All the various people giving the monies all have different motives.

One of the biggest reasons is that Syria supports Palestine and the rights of the Palestinian people, standing up on these issues to the highest extent of any country in the world. The whole program is not about Assad. Media and money drive the propaganda. I take my hat off to all those in the Syrian Army who are standing up, and for what we have done so far, as well as what we will still do! I am proud.

(Mr. Potgieter asks). I read in August about the USA using Turkish air force bases to launch airstrikes into Syria, supposedly against ISIS targets, and also creating a buffer zone in the North of Syria. Are they still proceeding?

This program has been going on a long time. The Turkish have long had plans with the Americans regarding what’s happening now in the Middle East. They want a no-fly zone on their areas in which they are mining resources. For a no-fly zone they need an international agreement, and as such there is no international approval.

(Mr. Potgieter says). Just like Iraq, there was no international approval.

There was agreement between Turkey and the Kurds. Today they assume the flag of international law and provoke missions like the fight against ISIS to draw Kurdish minds away from the brewing Kurdish issues with the Turks. It is very complicated in the north of Syria. The Syrian air force hit the ankle of the border with Turkey, while they were protecting their border. There is no international agreement for the land of Syria. Under current international law, the Syrian army has the right to fly over any part of the country or use weapons in any area to defend themselves against attacks. There has been past incidences of Turkey and Syria exchanging fire. If the Syrian people or army is attacked they have the right to defend themselves and their territory. Turkey deals in two parts with the Turkish Kurds and the Syrian Kurds. What Erdogan tried to accomplish against Syria was not successful. From the beginning, Syria was truthful and honest with the Kurds. Erdogan has lost public support for his actions.

(Mr. Potgieter says). The international strikes currently coming into Syria are supposedly against ISIS, and are coming without cooperation with the Syrian Army. Wouldn’t it make more sense for the international strikes to coordinate their efforts with the Syrian army, timed together to strike at ISIS?

They are lying about wanting to defeat ISIS. Why would they want to join forces?

(Mr. Potgieter says). The international citizens don’t make the connections. These strikes are obviously not directed towards taking out ISIS, otherwise they would want to coordinate.

The biggest value of ISIS is in regard to the oil and resources of Syria. They are busy moving the oil in thousands of trucks into Turkey. International communities can surely see this on the satellite feeds. How can we really believe that they want to fight ISIS? That is why we cooperate with true forces. There is a saying “follow the liar back to his house”.

(Mr. Potgieter says). If the international community wanted to protect Syria, then they would attack ISIS.

They want to be the monitor of the terrorists, who are not allowed to do more than they are instructed. They set the fire and left it there. They created terrorists and these agendas, promised monies and positions and thought it was possible to succeed in breaking Syria. When ISIS walked to Erbil (Iraq), America immediately stopped them. When they walked into Syria, they said “carry on”. As long as Daesh (ISIS) is standing against the Syrians, Americans are happy, when they try to move against America’s interests, America steps in.

Any rational person will look and see that in Syria the army supports the government and citizens support the army and they have all voted for Assad. The three are together, and nobody has the right to come from the outside and tell us what to do. If we were bombing our people, there would be no more citizens left, that is not our duty, we want to defend Syria and free Syria from the terrorists. In every area that there were terrorists, the people went out, the army defeated the terrorists and then the people went back. The government, people and army want to come to any solution for peace in Syria, but every time some agreement comes close, the rebel side fails to stand together.
